About the Author
While attending college at Nihon University, in 1988, Kentaro Miura debuted a 48-page manga known as Berserk Prototype, an introduction to the current Berserk fantasy world. It went on to win Miura a prize from the Comi Manga School. In 1989, after receiving a doctorate degree, Kentarou started a project titled King of Wolves based on a script by Buronson, writer of Hokuto no Ken (Fist Of The North Star).In 1990, the first volume Berserk was released with a relatively limited success. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga entitled Japan. Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists.In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired in the same year on NTV. The series has also spawned a whole host of merchandise, both official and fan made, ranging from statues and action figures, to key rings, video games, and a trading card game. In 2002, Kentaro Miura received the second place in the Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy) Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk. The author lives in Tokyo, Japan.

This is the 28th volume in the Berserk series. Guts and company are trying to resume their journey to Puck’s elven homeland. Two things happen on this leg of the journey; one is that Casca finds a strange boy on the beach that she seems to share a strong bond with, the second is that they are attacked by lizard monsters.Guts is still recovering from the horrible wounds he received from Zodd; now he must done the Berserker Armor again to protect his traveling companions. After that battle Guts and companions seek shelter in Vritannis. Schierke wanders off on her own to seek solitude and ends up being befriended by a strange young woman.I really enjoyed this installment of Berserk. I love that we spent a lot of time with Guts and company and enjoyed learning more about Schierke; she is my favorite character in this series right now.The illustration in this series is top notch and I continue to really enjoy the story. This volume had a lot of action and fighting but wasn’t quite as violent as previous volumes.Overall this was an awesome installment in the Berserk series. I really continue to enjoy the action, the characters, and the storyline and am excited to see what else this series brings us.
Personally the I think the best measure of any story is how the characters change over time. If a character will act the same on page one of a series as he will on page six hundred then there is an issue. This series does not have that issue, far from it, every characters grows leaps and bounds every novel. There is always something new in this series. Nothing every seems over done or tired. This series is deeply human and full of LIFE.
Thank you from sending a replacement for the damaged item. The quality of replacement was perfect.The Berserk manga was of course a good one, what else can one expect from the series. The artwork is a quality the newer manga series are having a hard time getting close to.
Captain St. Roidarms (think about it for a second) is back for more in this continuation of Kentaro Miura's epic. When Demons and monsters are sent to attack the branded mass of muscle and anger known as Guts, the main man once again steps up to the plate. Isidro is quite the vicious little mini-warrior in this book also. keep an eye on him.the setting changes toward the end, and expect more of the breathtaking medieval artwork that characterized miura's earlier volumes. if you have made it to volume 28, you know how great Berserk is. Dive on in and continue the fantasy that does not disappoint.
As a Berserk fan, you need this volume.
The manga itself was exicitng and great but the quality of the book was bent to all hell. I purchased the new copy and it arrived in such a beat up condition.
Such a good volume.
Its not bad, lot action and some strange graphic but, keeps you on toes.
