One of my kids originally found this book at a book fair in the 90's, and wore it out during the years. I was so happy to find a great copy on Amazon - the drawings are beautiful and honestly when I am forming the letters when finger spelling the alphabet, I can see those pictures in my head even after all these years.
This is a must-have for the classroom! We use it in The Story of Written Language and in The Human Body. You could also very easily use it in an Art class. The drawings of the hands are just gorgeous.
I love this book, it is beautifully illustrated. This was one of my favorite books to check out from the library when in first grade. It sparked my love and interest in ASL. Now I use it in activities with kiddos I work with who are non-verbal and learning sign.
I am late deafened adult and this book helped me learn sign the American Sign Language Alphabet. The beautiful pictures helped me remember the alphabet letter signs which then helped me learn how to spell words. I have gone a long way in learning ASL since then and I am still learning.

I taught American Sign Language last year, and I loved using this book for an artistic display of the manual alphabet. I felt bad tearing the pages out, but I had purchased 2 copies because it was priced so well! All my students loved looking at the pictures on the wall, which were especially helpful for students who had trouble remembering particular letters. The artistry is wonderful, definitely recommend!
