I am honestly normally not a huge fan of the Leslie Patricelli books.. as someone who has worked in childcare for nearly 10 years - I adore most children's books, but never really caught on to these. With that being said, I do feel like her book "Potty" was decent and cute, but this one even tops that and I am amazed at how much I like reading this book to my littles. The love on every single page is so incredibly evident, and makes it so much fun to read with some sweet babies you love dearly. I gifted this as a Valentine's Day book to a 10 month old, and his 2 year old sister enjoys it just as much if not more than he.
Cute, but not as awesome as the Quiet Loud book.It does have rhyming pages like a picture of the little kid tugging on his dad's pants and saying "Tuggy tuggy?" Then "Huggy, Huggy" on the next page. It goes on to show about the types of kisses and hugs that mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, auntie, uncle, kitty and doggy give. So for a traditional family, I'd say it was good.The last page has pictures of types of kisses to act out like Eskimo kiss and Bear hug.The kiddo likes it, but gravitates more toward wanting us to read Petricelli's other books.
This is one of my two year old's favorite books! He cracks up every time I start reading "Tuggy, Tuggy. Huggy, Huggy?" and likes to mimic what the characters are doing in the book. This is also one of my favorite books to read to him because I, too, can mimic the book and smother him with hugs and kisses. When the baby asks "Would you give me a kissy and huggy?", he always giggles, leans in and kisses the book. He enjoys many of the Leslie Patricelli books that we have but HUGGY KISSY and BOO are his two favorites.
We love this book! The boardbook pages are very sturdy. The text on the pages is short and sweet. It can be a quick read for little pnes with a short attention span!
This book is one of a series of Board Books for 'little ones' from Leslie Patricelli ... based on feedback from our young grandkids we ordered this one to complete our set. Like the other editions our grandkids loved it especially when you read the book to them ... simple and cute with a message. Don't be surprised to see the young ones (e.g. ages 1-3) once you read it to them bringing the book back again and again asking you to reread it to them. Net-net ... inexpensive and the little ones love it based on our experience so highly recommend.
We have majority of L. Patricelli's books but this one seems like it was more geared toward a 1-1.5 year old. My little girl is approaching 3 and she was kind of uninterested in this one. She loves "Tubby" and " Quiet, Loud". All of the books are colorful and fun though. I especially like that it requires the reader to adlib a little more. I think the adlib allows more exploration of their little imagination because it prompts more discussion. We love all the books, I just wish I would have gotten this one earlier on.
My daughter loves this book (and many of the other Leslie Patricelli books). It's an adorable little story about hugging and kissing and is perfect for little ones that are affectionate. She always goes to get her blanket (to hug it) on the appropriate page and she gives the baby a hug and kiss at the end of the book.She also loves the last two pages that show a range of other hugs and kisses, i.e., bear hug, group hug, boo boo kiss, etc. It's a quick read, which is perfect for bedtime. It's interactive with bright, fun pictures and I think it makes a nice addition to any library or a great gift (perfect for Valentine's Day!).
I got this book for my baby as a Valentine gift. He's still pretty little, but he seems to like the book (especially the puppy dog on the cover). It's simple, sweet, and happy. I also really like how colorful it is; the pages aren't filled with white space like so many board books tend to have. I sort of act out all the different huggies and kissies with my son when we read it, and he smiles and giggles.
