About the Author
Ivan McBeth, a Druid in the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids (OBOD), founded the Green Mountain Druid Order, a modern mystery school based in Worcester, Vermont with his partner Fearn Lickfield. Ivan's passion was the creation of sacred space, especially stone circles. A founding member of the Circles for Peace project in the United States, he was co-responsible for the Burlington Earth Clock and 25 other full-sized stone circles around the world, including the large Swan Circle on the site of the Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK and the Kinstones in Wisconsin. Ivan died in 2016.

This book is an amazing find for someone just stepping onto the path of the Bard. Lots of useful information explained in a detailed manner. Several very useful ceremonies broken down step by step making them easy to follow. I loved the personal stories. Ivan’s writing is gentle and embracing. Walking beside the new Bard, show him or her the way. Opening the forest trail. The only thing I can say that I like least about this book is that I want more! So, I have joined the Guardian of the Sacred Earth course through Ivan and Fearn’s Green Mountain School of Druidry. I am a beginning Bard with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.
Ivan wrote a book that is both personal and practical. He didn't hold back in sharing intimate details about his own life to demonstrate the power if Druidry to transform a person spiritually and physically. This book is both memoir and how to, but has important information for both the novice magic worker and the long studied Druid. There are some parts that I wish had been explored deeper, and a couple editing issues, but it is clear that Ivan put his whole self into this book. I never had the chance to meet him in person, but I feel from reading the book I would have greatly enjoyed his company. My Love to Fearn and all of his friends and colleagues.
The intention here is admirable but it's pretty low on content. A lot of vague ramblings about we're all one and the most baseline info on druidry that can easily be found online. That being said, I didn't finish it and instead returned it. Maybe all the content was in the last half? Who knows.
well written and I suddenly find myself gaining an insight to some things I new but did not fully understand. What a wonderful thing.
