I bought this for my 3-year-old for bedtime stories. Each story is approximately 4 sentences long, but there are dozens of stories. The language is stilted and slightly archaic (or, if you prefer to think of it this way, "traditional and true to early translations."). Read in a monotone. I strongly dislike it, but my son loves it. At least one story features the animal, "an ass," so I've got that conversation in my future. :)
I love the art in this book. I've used it in some of my art project.
